While I wander through an event space, an outdoor venue, or deep into the woods, interesting backdrops, motions, and light pull my attention. Each scene has a multitude of opportunities, and my goal is to find the image that invokes feeling for my clients and myself.
I am an Austin-based portrait and event photographer fortunate to have photographed concerts and musicians for the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM) and local artists; captured theatre performances at the Long Center for Performing Arts (one of my Heller Award photos hung on the outside of the building) and for the McCallum High School Fine Arts program; and photograph sports including McCallum High School Boys Soccer, River City Rangers Soccer Club, and at the BloodFest Rugby tournament. My experience photographing corporate events, weddings and engagements, and producing senior portraits add to my enjoyment every time I pick up my camera.
What turns my camera on? High contrast - many of my favorite photos feature bright stage lights creating dark shadows for a deeply emotional composition. My event photography features the energy and happiness surrounding the activities, and I always want to catch that fleeting moment to make a forever memory.
